Tundish Cars 

There are four commonly used structural forms of tundish cars:

1. Door-shaped tundish car

The nozzle of the tundish is located in the main beam of the tundish car, and the car straddles the mold, that is, the two tracks are respectively arranged on the pouring platform on both sides of the inner and outer arc of the mold. Since the center of gravity of the tundish is located between the two rails, the wheel pressure is evenly distributed, but it limits the operator's access to the mold, and if a steel overflow accident occurs, the rails will be welded to death, which will hinder the tundish car's running.

2. Overhead double-track tundish car

The two rails are respectively arranged on the elevated rails on both sides of the inner and outer arcs of the mold. This type of frame is short, has a simple structure and is not easily deformed, and there is no rail on the pouring platform, which overcomes the shortcomings of the floor-standing tundish. However, there are still two rows of overhead brackets, which affect the operator's sight.

3. Half-door tundish car

One track is on the casting platform on one side of the mold and the other track is on the track beam above the other side of the mold. The frame of this structure reduces the weight of the running beam and the support structure of the steel platform, and also improves the operating line of sight.

4. Cantilever tundish car

The frame is a fully suspended structure. There are two running wheels on the upper and lower sides, respectively, which are clamped on a running beam. However, the structure of this kind of vehicle is complicated, and the supporting structure of the steel platform is correspondingly complicated.
